This story is to be a narrated playthrough of Terraria with the Calamity mod. A few of the mods used might be considered cheaty by some. This is understandable. My main focus was having a good time and writing a story, so at times gameplay difficulty will be sacrificed for the sake of the narrative.
In keeping with this, this playthrough will be completed in journey mode. The item duping mechanic, however, will not be used whatsoever. Additionally, with the exception of the first three parts, the enemy difficulty will be set to classic or expert. I had intended to play this way from the jump, but simply forgot to adjust the difficulty and didn't realize until the Eye of Cthulhu's second phase (expert and higher difficulties only) failed to trigger. From that point on, gameplay has been and will be MOSTLY expert difficulty. The use of journey mode is mainly for a few key features like increasing enemy spawn rates (to cut down on time spent mindlessly grinding) and speeding up/slowing down time as needed for things like the creation of artificial biomes (crimson, mushroom, etc.)
You may also notice that I am not playing in Revengeance mode. Frankly, I am not very good at video games, and I mostly play Calamity for the added content rather than for the challenge. I have tried Revengeance mode and I personally just don't get any enjoyment out of repeating a boss 20+ times in order to beat it. With this in mind, I've made the choice to leave Revengeance mode off. Again, this is not meant to be some grandmaster challenge mode playthrough. The main focus here is telling a story that (hopefully) ends up being entertaining and humorous.
